Recced locations for an upcoming shoot supporting an international Health and Safety awareness campaign with a twist – in order to make it truly international the drama sequences need to be done without featured dialogue. We love a challenge and this will be good fun; simulating incidents and shooting for dramatic impact.
Ice and snow led to the unavoidable postponement of some shoot days, but mulled wine by the fire is sometimes an acceptable alternative!

November 2010
The Top Gear MPH Show, held at Earl’s Court and the Birmingham NEC, is a real petrolhead’s delight. Algebra TV cameras were at the show for two long days, capturing the excitement and bustle of what has become a major fixture in the motoring calendar.

Web-friendly trailers are useful for promoting productions – the RBL asked us to craft two short versions of recent programmes for YouTube. We also covered another interesting business conference, with subsequent editing of the important sessions into presentation versions.

September 2010
We completed a series of high level interviews with senior managers from a range of companies, talking about the client-supplier relationship and how it can be managed to mutual advantage.

August 2010
Produced a viral based around Moto GP bike footage from the Sepang F1 circuit, and an inspirational Health and Safety promo to make staff think about a ‘whole life’ approach to staying safe – at work and at home – which has been extremely well received. Also enjoyed filming on location, (in the sunshine for once!), from central London to Beaconsfield… and then downshifting into holiday mode.

July 2010
Algebra TV HD cameras were at Sandown Race Course and several other locations simultaneously to cover a major new product launch. We also filmed a novel approach by a management consultant who draws analogies from the history of military strategy to provide real-world business insights.

The poignancy of a journey of remembrance is shown clearly in a short documentary we produced for the Royal British Legion: Burma – Chindits Return. The first-hand testimony of old soldiers, returning to the battlefields of central Burma for the first time since 1944, is both emotional and uplifting.

May 2010
This year, Shell held their annual Smiling Stars conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Algebra TV cameras were there to capture the sense of anticipation and building excitement, until the moment that the very best of the best performers from around the world were revealed in front of a huge audience of their peers at the Sepang F1 circuit. The post-event highlights video is an engaging reminder of a fantastic international event.

We shot interviews in XDCAM HD for a New Zealand-based production company, with efficient delivery of H.264-encoded rushes via our download site for fast-turnaround editing in Christchurch.

April 2010
Magic of Motoring attracted a sizable crowd to the opening of their heritage clothing and memorabilia shop in Newport Pagnell, and a cracking display of motorbikes, race cars, classic cars including various Aston Martins, Ferraris and beautifully restored Porsche 356s, added to the retro atmosphere.

March 2010
The National Motor Heritage Museum at Gaydon was the shoot location for agency interviews on behalf of a multinational food company. If old cars and the history of transport are your thing, it’s well worth a detour.

Two new XDCAM EX3 cameras were added to the production side and RAID storage capacity extended in each suite.

February 2010
John flew to Dusseldorf to direct filming on location at the Meilenwerk. Apart from being a visually stimulating venue for corporate engagements, it houses an important collection of classic and racing cars in an architecturally fascinating structure.

January 2010
The Earls Court Travel Show is always a good opportunity to promote new travel destinations in an engaging way. We edited a promo for Poppy Travel, the specialist travel arm of the Royal British Legion, to play on their stand. Their journeys of remembrance and bespoke tours give unrivalled access to destinations of historical importance, from the WW1 battlefields of northern Europe to the Chindit Trail in Burma.
